On Sunday, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix won a People’s Choice Award for Competition Contestant of the Year, recognizing her journey on Dancing with the Stars Season 32. She even beat out the season’s winner, Xochitl Gomez.
Ariana Madix Wins People’s Choice Award for DWTS
During Sunday’s ceremony, Madix took home the award for Competition Contestant of the Year, in a category that also featured DWTS winner Xochitl Gomez, The Bachelorette and DWTS star Charity Lawson, The Golden Bachelor star Theresa Nist, That’s My Jam star Keke Palmer, American Idol winner Iam Tongi, and RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Anetra and Sasha Colby.
Madix finished Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars in third place, partnered with Pasha Pashkov. Her journey on the show made headlines after last year’s Scandoval controversy, which played out on Vanderpump Rules after it was revealed that Madix’s ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval had cheated on her with co-star Rachel Leviss.
According to Us Weekly, Madix was unable to attend the People’s Choice Awards in person on Sunday, as she’s been busy playing Roxie Hart in a production of Chicago on Broadway. However, Madix took to Instagram on Monday to share her gratitude for the award.

Madix Wants to Share Award with Pasha Pashkov
In her Instagram post on Monday, Madix thanked fans for voting for her to win the People’s Choice Award for Competition Contestant of the Year. She added that she wants to share the award with her dance partner Pasha Pashkov.
“You are the kindest most hard working person who taught me so much (in dance and in life!) and who created these incredible dances that I was lucky enough to be able to perform every week,” Madix wrote. “I’ve never had so much fun in my life! Thank you to my AMAZING @dancingwiththestars family. You all showed me so much love and I’m so grateful I was able to be a part of it.”
On Sunday night, Pashkov reshared the DWTS Instagram account’s post about Madix’s win on his stories, offering his congratulations.
